5 Songs That Could Replace The Star-Spangled Banner

5 Songs That Could Replace The Star-Spangled Banner

The 2019-2020 NFL football season is upon us. Though my interest in American football expeditiously faded after only receiving a portion of my entitled winnings from a fantasy championship win, due to a lack of performance in a dual-commissioned league (if I ever see your cousin again, I’ll break his fucking legs, Phil.), I still find myself adjacent to the cherished traditions practiced across the nation that tickle the senses; The smell of sweaty, encased meats on a Weber grill at a tailgate, the vivid cornucopia of colors of the vast variety of jerseys, and as of the last few Thanksgivings, the piercing squawk of a dipshit aunt spouting her thoughts on the National Anthem.

FBC NFL Preview: AFC South

FBC NFL Preview: AFC South

Welcome back to the Fancy Boys NFL Preview. This week, we are looking at the AFC South, which in spite of being an offensive league, has one viable quarterback in the entire division. More time has been wasted on developing quarterbacks in this division than has been wasted by this administration trying to get the president to learn where Israel is on a map.

When Andrew Luck retired, it was basically an anointment of the Texans as kind of the division until Jacoby Brissett proves himself, or the Colts just up and tank this season in the hopes of drafting a QB next year. It’s all just…thrilling. Anyway, let’s dive in to the AFC South.

Cannabis Corner with Katie Keller

Cannabis Corner with Katie Keller

Ah, cannabis. A plant federally recognized as a schedule 1 drug while being legalized for recreational use in 12 states, with a total of 33 states legalizing it for medicinal use. And yet somehow there is still so much debate about whether it’s good or bad for you. I will preface this article and any of the like by stating that I am not a doctor. I can only speak to my own experience with weed and through the organizations I have been apart of to advocate for the plant. But I have an insider look from grow house, to distribution, to consumption and effects. So consider this a cannabis safe space. Want to ask about rigs for concentrates? I’m your girl. Want to know how to dose your mom or dad who are in pain but don’t want to get stoned – I can give you some insight there too. Want to just chat with someone about how much better food tastes when you’re high – reach out!

Whether or not you have burning questions about weed – I will check in here regularly to give you up to date information about the laws surrounding the plant as they continue to grow and change. I will also speak to my own personal experiences, for better or worse, so you can safely and responsibly enjoy cannabis if you are legally allowed to do so in your state, and assuming you are also of age.

It’s Official: Gretna, Nebraska Is Pretty Alright

It’s Official: Gretna, Nebraska Is Pretty Alright

I’ve traveled all over the world, primarily Europe, seeing all the sites and eating my way through each country. However, the fresh pasta of Italy, the delicious sausages of Germany, and the tapas of Spain have nothing on the delectable cuisine of Gretna, Nebraska… probably.

If The Party’s Where You’re At, Then Let Me Know: How Jagged Edge Crossed Over and United a Nation

If The Party’s Where You’re At, Then Let Me Know: How Jagged Edge Crossed Over and United a Nation

Life is hard. It’s a cliché, but lord knows often it is all too true. In the ever-fading days of youth, we tend to forget what makes us human; what makes us beautiful as a species. It is our inherent ability to rise from the fruit of our faults and become greater than we thought we could be. Jack Nicholson’s Jack Torrance from The Shining quotes the brilliantly brief age-old elucidation into mankind’s most futile ritual- “all work and no play make Jack a dull boy.” If there is not joy to life, if there is no pleasure, what is our purpose? To live life without a shred of gratification would be to fail as a human being. Enter late spring, 2001. America is unaware of the perilous age that lies ahead. On the radio, one particular song was set to take over the summer. That song would be the inverse credo of that damning proverb. Perhaps we could do ourselves a favor and think back to a time when a group of young men from Atlanta and their friend from St. Louis asked the simplest of questions- “Where the Party At?”

Fancy Boys Video Game Club: Jackie Chan’s Action Kung Fu

Welcome to episode 1 of The Fancy Boys Video Game Club, a thing that I just made up as I began typing this intro. Every week I intend to post a video in which I sit down with a different video game for about an hour or so and talk about it. I don’t have any type of criteria in mind. It could be a new release, an old classic, or just a weirdo game that I liked a whole lot that I’ve never heard anyone else ever talk about. Today’s episode is just that. Jackie Chan’s Action Kung Fu. Continue reading “Fancy Boys Video Game Club: Jackie Chan’s Action Kung Fu”

Ep 1: Once Upon A Time In Hollywood

So I’d say go watch the movie first and the come on back and click on the link above and have a listen. OR you can subscribe on Apple podcasts, head on over to Stitcher, or just search pretty much anywhere else podcasts are found. It’s gon’ be a good time!

Lastly I have to give a big thank you to our sponsors this week, we couldn’t do it without you.

FBC NFL Preview: AFC East

FBC NFL Preview: AFC East

Welcome to the first division preview and it makes sense to knock out the easiest, most obvious division in football. The Patriots rule this division. There are people who are sophmores in college who know nothing but the dominance of Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. We were barely over Y2K when they came in and announced their presence in the NFL. So, lets get this over with, here is the AFC East…
