The Worst Comedy Set I’ve Ever Seen

The Worst Comedy Set I’ve Ever Seen

This collection of writers at Fancy Boys Club all have one thing in common: stand-up comedy. Some of us perform (or have performed) it. Some of us produce (or have produced) it. All of us love it. Or have loved it and then hated it and then loved it again. Relationships with comedy can be very complicated.

I’ve been lucky enough to be performing stand-up comedy for over 12 years now. How am I as a comedian? I’m… ok. There are nights when I have amazing sets and nights when I bomb. Most sets lie somewhere in the middle of those.

This Article May Save Your Life Someday

Every station I flip through airs footage of the AmazonRainforest on fire. Animals running for shelter, environmentalists shoutingthat this is one resource we cannot afford to lose.

Drama Queen

‘The fools,’ I think to myself, as I set my cell phone downand spin in my desk chair. I look out the window before placing my hand on itlongingly, because I’m totally sad right now.

Millennials Are Killing Tantric Sex

Millennials Are Killing Tantric Sex

Is there anything more blissful than a sexual session that lasts an entire weekend? Send all my calls to voicemail because the wife and I are planning on having an epic weekend-long tantric sex session that may set the Guinness World Record for “Most Erotic Weekend.” However, throughout my sexual journeys across the globe, I’ve noticed something. There are less and less younger people attending viewing parties for my tantric sexcapades. I find myself surrounded by Dorothys and Winifreds more and more and less surrounded by anyone who isn’t a card-carrying member of the AARP.

FBC NFL Preview: AFC West

Welcome back everyone to the Fancy Boys Football Preview. I’m happy to report that upward of three million people have read these articles so far. You are officially in good company. Today we are talking about the AFC West, possibly the most entertaining division in the NFL, and assuredly one of the most well coached, with a very notable, red haired, quarterback obsessed exception.

Goodnight, Sweet Taco Bell Prince

Goodnight, Sweet Taco Bell Prince

They say Icarus perished when he flew too close to the sun, and his wings melted. Or caught fire. Or he hit a goose. I’m not great with fables. Sorry Aesop. In many ways, Taco Bell is fast foot Icarus. Where many fast food companies dared not go, or at best toed the line (the Double Down never had crispy enough chicken, KFC!), Taco Bell spit in the face of common sense, and kicked food dignity in the balls.

Realize I Was The One: A Love Letter to Boyz II Men’s ‘II’

Realize I Was The One: A Love Letter to Boyz II Men’s ‘II’

It was in the spring of 1995 that I had first heard of Boyz II Men or their album II. I was in second grade, and my family had just moved from Hobart, Indiana to nearby Valparaiso. It was far enough to lose contact with all of my friends but close enough that my mother could drive me to school on her way to work in Merrillville to let me finish out the year.

Easy Guide to Comedy

When pursuing stand up comedy, maintaining discipline is a constant struggle when developing your material.  I have read a lot of literature on how to develop my own comedy and have always just wanted a simple guideline of advice to do so.  After 7 years this is probably the best and simplest advice I have for developing one’s material. Keep in mind that comedy is a very personal journey so please feel free to adjust this guideline to what works best for you.

5 Songs That Could Replace The Star-Spangled Banner

5 Songs That Could Replace The Star-Spangled Banner

The 2019-2020 NFL football season is upon us. Though my interest in American football expeditiously faded after only receiving a portion of my entitled winnings from a fantasy championship win, due to a lack of performance in a dual-commissioned league (if I ever see your cousin again, I’ll break his fucking legs, Phil.), I still find myself adjacent to the cherished traditions practiced across the nation that tickle the senses; The smell of sweaty, encased meats on a Weber grill at a tailgate, the vivid cornucopia of colors of the vast variety of jerseys, and as of the last few Thanksgivings, the piercing squawk of a dipshit aunt spouting her thoughts on the National Anthem.

FBC NFL Preview: AFC South

FBC NFL Preview: AFC South

Welcome back to the Fancy Boys NFL Preview. This week, we are looking at the AFC South, which in spite of being an offensive league, has one viable quarterback in the entire division. More time has been wasted on developing quarterbacks in this division than has been wasted by this administration trying to get the president to learn where Israel is on a map.

When Andrew Luck retired, it was basically an anointment of the Texans as kind of the division until Jacoby Brissett proves himself, or the Colts just up and tank this season in the hopes of drafting a QB next year. It’s all just…thrilling. Anyway, let’s dive in to the AFC South.

Cannabis Corner with Katie Keller

Cannabis Corner with Katie Keller

Ah, cannabis. A plant federally recognized as a schedule 1 drug while being legalized for recreational use in 12 states, with a total of 33 states legalizing it for medicinal use. And yet somehow there is still so much debate about whether it’s good or bad for you. I will preface this article and any of the like by stating that I am not a doctor. I can only speak to my own experience with weed and through the organizations I have been apart of to advocate for the plant. But I have an insider look from grow house, to distribution, to consumption and effects. So consider this a cannabis safe space. Want to ask about rigs for concentrates? I’m your girl. Want to know how to dose your mom or dad who are in pain but don’t want to get stoned – I can give you some insight there too. Want to just chat with someone about how much better food tastes when you’re high – reach out!

Whether or not you have burning questions about weed – I will check in here regularly to give you up to date information about the laws surrounding the plant as they continue to grow and change. I will also speak to my own personal experiences, for better or worse, so you can safely and responsibly enjoy cannabis if you are legally allowed to do so in your state, and assuming you are also of age.
