The Toronto basketball team was eliminated today. They looked to be legitimate contenders for the Eastern Conference championship, but ultimately fell six wins short. We end their title defense and quench their flame with a poem.
From Whence Ye Came
Avow yourself to this elation
At least it came to pass
Though a quelling comes to our ovation
At least it came to pass
Return from whence ye came they said
We knew it wouldn’t last
Though they’ll never take crowns from our heads
We knew it wouldn’t last
To far off lands we’ll steel ourselves
And then begin again
We’ll lick our wounds and toast our health
And then begin again
